Ballerina
Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:45AM
Hey everyone!
Yes it's me in a pink leotard...always, these days! haha Ever since my friend Sarah Sophie Flicker introduced me to ballerina MaryHelen Bowers's amazing Ballet Beautiful , I have been in ballet slippers pretty much on a daily basis.
I work out usually 3-4 days a week and it is truly becoming a priority for me. I feel so much better after a BB session...it helps strengthen not only your body, but also your outlook on life. I highly suggest looking into buying either a DVD of Ballet Beautiful or taking classes. I take classes online and if I am in Nyc then I go to the classes in the studio. But either way, even if it is just buying one of MaryHelen's BB dvds, it is SOOO worth it! And of course it so much fun getting into your leotard and ballet slippers (yes I am SUCH a girl, but chances are you are too!!). For cute leotards, I bought my pink one at a shop in town, but there are many different styles and colors of leotards online (like this shop) & (Capezio). Ballet slippers: Bloch & Capezio
Aside from working out ballet-style...I have been painting up a storm and making these headpieces for a shoot I am going to be doing this summer. These ones shown above are completely unfinished, but they are getting closer...I am currently working on a third as well. I try and take one day for painting and then one day for making the headpieces. I finished one painting of Keiko Lynn and working on the rest still! If any of you want a painted photo of mine or even just a print of any photo in my portfolio, let me know, as I am printing them and selling them now!
And if you have not seen the documentary film 'First Position' yet, go see it! (Trailer below).

Whistle While You Work...
Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:36PM Working on some new painted photos...images of Keiko Lynn, Hannah Metz & Sarah Sophie Flicker...Yay! I printed them pretty large, my ballet slippers will give you perspective of the size. I printed a bunch of smaller ones too, but I am going to start the big ones first. I love my days painting...it gives me a chance to listen to some of the records I got my husband for his birthday...lots of Ernest Tubb, Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, Carter Family and many more old Country gems!

Lullie Vintage Clothing Re-opening!
Friday, May 11, 2012 at 5:11PM

Hey everyone!
I'm not sure if all of you know this, but before I began taking photos and painting on them...I used to have an online vintage shop. Well, today I have officially re-opened Lullie Vintage and I would be honored if you would take a peak! If you like what you see, it would help me out sooooooo much if you share the shops address via twitter, blogs, facebook or tell you friends about it in person! I basically opened the shop so that I could remain an artist, but pay my bills, so any traffic to the shop would help me out so much! I will eventually be putting up some of my art prints too...along with a section for hats, kids vintage and costumes.
Thanks so much and I hope everyone is doing great!

Shae

SNEAK LITTLE PEAK...
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 2:25PM

Hello lovelies,
I have a ton of photos I am working on from a shoot I did with my buddies Keiko Lynn and Hannah. Here are just a couple of images...not yet painted on, so much more to show you all. We drove out to Cherry Valley in Pennsylvania and spent time on a horse farm, a lake full of lily pads, and a flower field! I am going to be painting on a bunch of the images and putting together a little spread with text and some other cute things... But here is a tiny little peak of what we were doing...
I'm currently in Nashville while my husband Brett records his newest album...and then we head back to Los Angeles. I had such a wonderful time in Nyc spending time with some new friends and really cherishing every moment with my parents and family. I have a TON of preparation for a few shoots I am collaborating on this summer. I'll be pretty crazy busy making costumes and props and also painting on the photos I shot of Sarah. Super excited for summer collaborations! Oh and side note...I am pretty sure I am re-opening Lullie Vintage the week after I get home. Hope you are all doing lovely!
xoxo,
Shae

GET OUT AND GET UNDER THE MOON
Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 5:08AM

On my birthday, back in March, me and the ever so talented Sarah Sophie Flicker made our way out to Malibu to collaborate on some photos and have some fun. Sarah is a devoted mother, performer, dancer, filmmaker & writer and she is so full of life! She is such a creative force, but more importantly, she is really genuine, down to earth and a really giving individual. She is one of those artists that just seem to make you smile. :)
Painted photos from this shoot coming soon!

PRISM OF THREADS
Sunday, April 8, 2012 at 7:44AM
I shot this image for my friend, Tracy Conti McCarty. Her shop is called Prism Of Threads and in this photo, our friend Kristin is wearing Prism Of Threads hand painted silk vintage scarves that were made into tops. Definitely head on over to the shop and check out all of her pieces, they are really unique!
Our friend Kristin Korven modeled for us, she is a really talented interior decorator and she was pretty amazing in front of the camera! I am going to be photographing her again for sure! Jennifer Ziliotto did the makeup for us and she is a gal I met when I first moved to La about 5 or 6 years ago. She is not only a musician and artist but she is also the creator and owner of Naked Eye Beauty. Naked Eye beauty products are handmade, have animal free testing and she only uses organic ingredients!!!! She's pretty amazing and so are her products, you NEED to go to her shop!
